Fall Leaf Cozy Sweater Winter Water

As you step outside your door in the early morning, there is a familiar sensation that overcomes you. Leaves crinkle at your footstep, the evocative scent of a faint campfire and the feeling of a chill that brings you comfort. Aimless strolls on the beach are nothing but a solitary vacation to ease the mind. At that moment, Ocean City and its locals know that autumn season is no longer creeping, but fully in session and tends to stick around for a while.

Indulge in all the fall festivities you have been craving to do this year by attending the Ocean City Octoberfest. Happening from Oct. 22 - Oct. 24, Octoberfest brings you a plethora of activities that are welcoming to people of all ages. Kick-off the event that is happening the entire weekend — the Beach Maze. Especially welcoming to kids, walk through a maze with skeletons, witches and scarecrows that will bring the right amount of spook to your Halloween season.

Bring your furry friends along to the annual Octoberfest Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade on Oct. 23. Right on the boardwalk, come show off your pet’s festive look and/or cheer for your favorite contestant! Right after, join in on the happenings at the inlet with the Octoberfest Drive & Disguise / Trunk or Treat. Sponsored by the Ocean City Jeep Club, grab your favorite candy treats from each car that’ll be creatively dressed up for the occasion. This event is perfect for families, or if you just want to feel the youthful excitement of trick or treating again. Does live music, delicious food and local beer sound like an ideal Saturday afternoon to you? Hit up the Shore Craft Beer Festival that same day, happening from 1:30-4:30 down at Ocean City’s scenic Sunset Park. All ages are welcome but must be 21+ with a valid ID to purchase a beer-drinking ticket. End your Saturday evening with a drive-in movie at the inlet, showing the iconic family-friendly Halloween film ‘Casper’. Only costing $3, this experience will end your fun-filled Octoberfest weekend on a nostalgic note.

Kick on your running/walking shoes and join the town in the annual Seaside 10K and 5K Halloween Run happening on Oct. 30. This isn’t just a normal race. Show up in your most outrageous costume to add a dash of spirit. Rain or shine, the race will run on the boardwalk all the way up to 69th street. Get your blood pumpin’ and most of all … get spooked.

Easing into the time of year when the chill turns to cold and the smell of pine and roasting chestnuts lingers through the air, winter arrives and so do the festivities up to the holiday season. Happening for almost two months, the annual Winterfest of Lights held from Nov. 18 - Jan 2 in the Northside Park will have you strolling through a winter wonderland. Enjoy a steamy cup of hot chocolate while taking a walk through whimsical paths of vibrant lights and also featuring a 50 ft Christmas Tree. The Ocean City Christmas Parade will be passing by in the northern part of town on Dec. 4 at 11 am. Come together and experience the holiday season with the community of Ocean City featuring local high school bands, antique cars, spirited holiday floats and horses!

The end of 2021 brings a sense of unity to this smaller, local community of Ocean City. Spend your weekends this fall/winter season with events that will amplify your holiday enthusiasm.
