Golf Courses
Glen Riddle Golf Club’s “Man O’War”
This course, which features “pure, windswept links golf,” provides a golfing experience similar to one found on courses in the British Isles. The historic racetrack that once trained champion thoroughbreds has become a cross hazard on three holes. The Man O’War course plays 7,163 yards and a par of 72 from the rear tees.
Lighthouse Sound’s Links
This award-winning course has panoramic views of the Assawoman Bay and the Ocean City skyline. Its back nine holes are all along the St. Martin’s River. Designers have made every effort to preserve and enhance its natural habitat, and the course, a member of the Audubon Society, is seeking Society certification. The Links plays 7031 yards and a par of 72 from the rear tees.
Nutters Crossing
This course features fairways that roll past eight water hazards, and through a maze of over 50 bunkers. Built to USGA specs, the course has a wide-open front side and a back that trails through woodlands, giving a test of accuracy all the way home. The course plays a back tee yardage of 6103 and par of 70 that are deceptive — with “water lurking on no fewer than a dozen holes.”
Eagle’s Landing
This seaside course overlooks the Sinepuxent Bay and the natural beauty of the Assateague Island National Seashore, one of the nation’s national parks. The award-winning course has six holes that meander through the peaceful saltwater marshes. Yet the course holds the prestigious certification as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Eagle’s Landing plays 7003 yards and a par of 72 from the rear tees.
