The fun never stops in Ocean City, Maryland!

It’s late August, early September, and you’re think-ing to yourself, “The Summer is over, I missed my chance to soak up the sun and dig my toes in the sand!”. As you let out a cry of regret, you hear the famous infomercial catchphrase in the background, “But wait, there’s more!” That’s right, there’s more fun and loads more sun to be had in Ocean City, Maryland in 2019! So take a deep breath, relax, and keep on reading to learn about all the awesome events yet to come to Ocean City!

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or an occasional Ocean City visitor, you’ve most likely heard of Sunfest. Sunfest is the un-official send off to Summer and celebration of the beginning of Fall all in one! Taking place from September 19-22, Sunfest is a 4 day extravaganza of music, food, beer, wine, arts, crafts, and more! The best part, most of the items, whether it be the food, drinks, or crafts, all come from local businesses and vendors. Spend the day weaving in and out of craft tents look-ing for that perfect item for your home. Cut a rug on the dance floor to live music. And grab some fantastic fair food featuring local cuisine you can’t get any where else. All of this just step saway from the sand and within a earshot of the crashing waves. It’s the perfect event to celebrate the transition from Summer to Fall in Ocean City, Maryland. Oh, we almost forgot to mention: admission to Sunfest is FREE!

Now, picture this, you’re at the beach and all you want to do is have a good time. But instead you just can’t stop whining! No, not that type of whining, we’re talking about wine-ing! That’s right, Wine on the Beach is a 2 day event in Ocean City where you can wine all you want! Feature wineries and breweries from the surrounding area, Ocean City’s Wine on the Beach allows guests to sample, buy, and enjoy all the wines and brews that the Delmarva region has to offer. Wine on the Beach takes place September 27 and 28 at the Inlet Parking Lot. General Admission tickets are available for purchase at the entrance. Don’t forget your ID!

“To sea, or not to sea, that is the question!” That’s how the famous Shakespeare quote goes, right? Close enough! You may be wondering why we’re talking about Shakespeare. Brown Box Theatre Project” is why! For the last 5 years or so, Brown Box Theatre has brought their talents to Delmarva to put on a free outdoor Shakespeare event for all the enjoy. This year’s showing will be ‘Measure to Measure’, a comedy that pits the corruption and purity against one another. Which one will prevail? See for yourself at Sunset Park in Ocean City on September 8 or at Northside Park on September 19.

Rounding out the Fall season is two tasty experiences that gives you a chance to try out different local cuisines and breweries. First up, from October 13-27 is OceanCity Restaurant Week Ocean City Restaurant Week. During restaurant week, restaurants will offer fixed price menu options from $10-$40 that showcase their best work. It’s one of the best ways to try the many award-winning restaurants in Ocean City. Visit the link above to see what restaurants are participating and what they’re offering. The second event comes at the tail end of restaurant week, the Shore Craft Beer Fest. On October 26, from 12:30 – 4:30 enjoy craft beer from 16 Delmarva breweries, live music, food and vendors. The event takes place at Sunset Park overlooking the Assawoman Bay.

The events listed above are just the cherry on top of what Ocean City still has to offer in September and October. These two months following the hot and busy Summer offer some of the most comfortable temperatures as well as a less crowded Ocean City experience.
