Spring time beyond the beach in OC

Do you feel that? The warmer days and nights. The days where a jacket isn’t necessary. The tough morning decision whether to wear shorts or pants? That right there is what we call Spring. And with Spring rolling in it’s that time where you begin to itch for some much needed beach time! And if it’s the beach you’re after, we got you covered with the clean, award-winning Ocean City beach. But let’s just say you’re thinking about doing a little more this year with your OC vacation. Well, we got you covered there, too! We have the Spring savings hotel rates and all the family-fun event dates, and we want to tell you all about them! The absolute biggest kick-off event in Ocean City each year is Springfest. Four days of music, food, one-of-a-kind vendors, and so much more. But for most of our readers Springfest is a familiar event. So, we want to highlight some other special events, some new and some coming back for more, before we get into Springfest. Don’t worry, we won’t forget about it!

Possibly the most exciting new event this year will have all your friends back home super jelly (jealous) of your OC vacation: The Jellyfish Festival! Three days of live music, extreme sports entertainment, interactive art and music exhibits, unique vendors, and so much more! Taking over the beach from North Division Street to the Pier, the Jellyfish Festival is one of Ocean City’s most exciting new events to happen in a long time. Headliners for the main stage include Styx, Badfish, and Newboys. Many more wonderful acts finish out the 3-day music lineup. The Jellyfish Festival comes at the tail end of Spring and finishes at the beginning of Summer. Event dates are June 21-23. More information and tickets for the main stage can be found here!

If the Jellyfish Festival has you tingling with excitement, then you’re in luck, we have special hotel rates that will help you enjoy the festival and save a little on your accommodation. The loudest, biggest, fastest, most spectacular event in town returns for the 12th year this June 15-16. If you haven’t already figured it out, it’s the OC Air Show! Roaring in with their jets blazin’ this year is the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. The pinnacle of air show entertainment, the Blue Angels are a must see! Whether you’ve never seen them before or you’re a Blue Angel fanatic, they’re the birds in the sky that will always catch your eye. Last, but certainly not least, Springfest. The unofficial kickoff to Ocean City’s season. The most visited and most talked about event in Ocean City’s first half of the season. Located just steps from the ocean in the OC Inlet, Springfest has it all: music, crafts, vendors, wine, beer, and my personal favorite, amazing FOOD! Admission into Springfest is free and there’s something for all ages to enjoy. Headlining the musical stages this year are Almost Queen, LeAnn Rims, and Night Ranger with special guests The Reagan Years.
